Galaxy S4 Update
There is a software update that is hitting the Galaxy S4 today. I wanted to point out a few things with it. This is the update that provides support for the Galaxy Gear. It is also a rather large update weighing in just under 1GB. My phone actually had to reboot in the middle of the download. All told, it took about 3 hours to do the update and I didn't have use of my phone for extended periods during the reboots. It also used about 70% of my battery. Please be aware of these things as you communicate with customers about this.

I wanted to follow up on this S4 software update. You may have heard that Samsung has suspended this update with no timetable for when it will start pushing out again. Some customers were able to update before they suspended the process. I will tell you from experience, this update should have never been pushed out. Since updating, here are the issues I have experienced:
I am lucky to get more than 3 hours of battery life per charge.
The phone will randomly reboot multiple times per day.
It will not recognize my SD card at all.
It randomly changes ringtones or won't ring at all.
When you try to access Storage under settings, the phone will actually lock-up.
These might be isolated to my device but I wanted to make everyone aware of them so that you may be able to better assist a customer who is experiencing some of the same issues. If you have a customer with these issues on an S4 that has been updated to 4.3, please call the tech team and file a ticket so they have it on record.
