"Package File Invaild" Error Message

In the last week, Google updated the Play Store.  Since this update, many users, including myself have seen the error message "Package File Invalid" when trying to download or update select apps.  This does not happen all the time or with all applications.  Some people suggest there is a work around like going into your Applications and clearing the data.  Google came out yesterday and acknowledged the issue and said they are working on a resolution and that they do not know of any work-arounds that work in all situations.  If you have customers coming in concerned about this issue, please just let them know Google is working on it and it should be resolved shortly.
