Data Block on the Alcatel One Touch Premiere
Hi Guys,
I just found out via a customer issue and confirmation from Tech Support, that if you block the data on the Alcatel One Touch Premiere, this will also stop/block picture messaging from working. Also if you block the data the My Contacts Backup won’t work on the phone. So if a customer wants this phone and doesn’t want to pay for Data, you need to block the data and inform them that they won’t be able to send/receive pictures. Again, I did confirm this personally with our tech team.

There is an option on the phone duringthe initial setup to disable the background data and syncing. If a customer does not want to lose picture messaging, we are able to leave daily data on, but disable the data on the phone. Also, there is counter for talk, text, and web limits. You can put in their cycle date and set the limit to 1kb. In a months time, even if they re-enabled the data, they would at a worst case scenario be looking at one day of daily data (provided they turn it back off when they are done using it!!). Yes, setting up the data counter with the cycle date and showing them where/how the data is managed is an extra step, but this can make a huge difference for a customer who is wanting that phone or on the fence of getting it, but is concerned about the charges and don't want to lose the features they pay for.
