Programming an S4
It has come to my attention that the S4 actually preforms the programming of the phone in the background as soon as you turn it on the first time. This might explain the issue I saw several people having yesterday when it was saying programming failed but the phone was in fact active and programmed. Please let me know if anyone is experiencing something different, but from my understanding, you simply put the sim card in, power on the phone and it will try to activate itself without you needing to preform a *228.

The androids have programmed on startup since the electrify. It's best not to turn them on to transfer stuff until they've been activated in AIM. 0 -
I still find that I have to perform a *228. I can get internet access as soon as the device powers up, but when I try to place a test call, I still get the "If you would like to make a collect call..." message. The *228 always fails, but both voice and data work afterward. I suppose it's possible that I just need to wait longer upon initial startup for the voice service to kick in.
